Alexander Flood has a growing portfolio of very successful arrangements and transcriptions on every possible scale: from reductions of orchestral scores to orchestrations of keyboard music. Much of this work has been undertaken for the purpose of tailoring music to the forces available for a particular performance. This has proved especially useful for choirs needing reduced or augmented accompaniments to suit their venue.

Another major area of activity has been in the field of keyboard transcriptions, with his arrangements for organ being particularly praised.
